When you guys were studying before working as designers, were you purely learning from the teachings and practices of Swiss designers?
Not at all Billie. We were just doing whatever we were interested in. It’s good to know the history. But it doesn’t help you to limit yourself. Now it’s time to create something which hasn’t existed before!

What kind of chairs do you guys sit on in the studio? I sometimes sit for hours designing and need a good chair!

We did quite some research! We started with the classic by Charles and Ray Eames, discovered an old Swiss metal goods factory with very simple chairs and fought with the pros and cons of simplicity and seating comfort. We stopped only one second after we saw the wonderful office chair designed by Christophe Marchand, produced by Swiss manufacturer Embru. And we couldn’t be happier with it!

Ich werd euch definitiv ein Portfolio und ne motivierte E-Mail noch schreiben, aber bevor ich das mache noch eine Frage – muss ich schon skilled sein, was Programme wie Photoshop, InDesign etc. betrifft, um bei euch ein (zweiwöchiges) Praktikum zu machen? Oder würdet ihr auch Leute nehmen, die nur traditionelles in ihrem Portfolio haben?
Ob traditionell oder nicht, spielt überhaupt keine Rolle, Jasmin. Solange es grossartig ist! Was du aber sicher sein musst, ist über-super-skilled! 😀 Ausserdem ist die Mindestdauer für ein Praktikum 3 Monate. So viel Zeit braucht es mindestens, dass beide Seiten maximal voneinander profitieren können.
